Blackthorn is a bush up to 3 meters high, with highly branched branches with thorns.
It has oval leaves with stems and the flowers are white and small.
Fruits are round and have a dark color.
The Blackthorn grows native to Europe, western Asia, northwest Africa and it is also locally naturalized in New Zealand and eastern North America.

Medicinal use:
As cure are used its dried flowers and dried or fresh fruits. The fruits are used against inflammation of the digestive organs, diarrhea, colitis and other intestinal diseases. The flowers are used against an enlarged prostate and for diseases of the urinary organs.
