Greater burdock plant - Artium lappa

The Greater burdock palnt - Artium lappa (gobō, lappa, beggar's buttons, thorny burr, happy major) belongs to the group of perennial plants with branched stems up to 1.5 meters. It has large egg-shaped leaves.

Its flowers are purple; on the top of the plant, sphere-shaped and quite large.

Medicinal use of Greater burdock plant 

The greater burdock is considered as “king” of the river banks, meadows and fields; this large weed brings unusual power in it.
The greater burdock is the excellent blood purifier and it is ingredient in the hair lotions in the form of oil protecting of heavy damage and hair loss.
The root of the greater burdock is used as an anti-fever, flu and colds, it mends stone and sand and other infections of the kidneys and urinary tract. It helps with stomach pain, intestines and liver problems.
