Oak - Querqus robur – Medicinal use

The oak - Quercus robur (common oak, pedunculate oak, European oak, English oak) is a perennial tree, high up to 30 meters, with spirally arranged leaves and catkin-shaped flowers.

Its fruit is acorn seated in a cupule having one seed. It grows in forests and at higher altitude. 

Medicinal use of Oak

Traditional medicine uses oak’s dried bark and leaves as a remedy. Oak tea is used for healing inflammation and infection of the urinary tract, diseases of the mucous membrane in the mouth and throat, bleeding from the uterus and hemorrhoids. It is also used in the treatment of wounds, eczem, and diarrhea.
