The Pumpkin – Cucurbita pepo is a cultivated annual plant with crawling stem up to 8 meters long which have spines.

Pumpkin’s leaves are large and heart-shaped with long leafstalks. Flowers are yellow and the fruit is big and rounded with orange or yellow color.
The pumpkin’s seeds hold the germination properties 3-4 years.

Medicinal use of Pumpkin

The fruit contains sugars, proteins, vitamins, and minerals, therefore, it strengthens the vision, stimulates growth of children, maintains the function of the stomach and intestine and strengthens the immunity.
Abundant content of vitamin E in the pumpkin improves skin health, protects against Alzheimer’s disease and certain types of cancer. Pumpkin seed is also abundant with useful compounds, so the pumpkin seed oil helps in treatment of diseases of prostate and kidney stones.
